Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase the hardwearing properties by providing the film layer composed of the nonmagnetic powder featuring a fixed hardness, the carbon black powder and the hardenable resin at the opposite side to the magnetic layer.
CONSTITUTION: The film layer featuring the following composition is provided at the opposite side to the magnetic layer for the basic film of the magnetic recording tape. The film layer is obtained by coating the mixture of the carbon black powder and the nonmagnetic powder of over 0.5μ(such as boron carbide, alumina, tungsten carbide, titanium carbide, titanium nitride, chromium oxide, etc.) of 1W15wt to the carbon black powder plus the desired hardenable resin. The mixtrue ratio is set preferably to 35:65W65:35wt% between the total amount of the above mentioned powder and the resin functioning as the binder.
