Abstract
PURPOSE: The title elastomer composition capable of giving vulcanizates having well-balanced properties and improved resistance to aging, comprising a metallic oxide vulcanizing agent and a specific vulcanization accelerator.
CONSTITUTION: A composition comprising (A) 100 parts by wt. of a chlorine- containing elastomer, (B) about 2W40 parts by wt. of a metallic oxide vulcanizing agent, and, (C) about 0.1W30 parts by wt. of a vulcanization accelerator consisting of (a) 1 part by wt. of a compound of formula I: (A and A' are aromatic rings; X is 0 or an integer 1W4; n' is an integer 2W4), (b) 0.05W 20 parts by wt. of one or more types of compounds selected from (i) compounds of formula II: (R1, R2, R3, and R4 are alkyl, aryl, or aralkyl groups; y is an integer 1W4), (c) guanidines, (d) thioureas, (e) thiazoles (or salts), (f) dithiocarbamates, (g) sulfenamides, (h) xanthates (or salts), (i) aldehyde-amine (ammonia) condensates, and (j) sulfur donative compounds.
