Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable even the patterns of intricate shapes to be readily coated by forming the coat in liquid form and coating the same through dipping or spraying and setting shell sand by microwaves.
CONSTITUTION: The water-soluble or alcoholic coat b composed of dielectric material for microwaves, thermosetting type resins and refractory powder is coated on a rubber pattern a of ordinary temperature to 60°C through dipping or spraying. Next, the mixture of shell-molding resins and dielectric material is coated or mixed to or in silica sand to provide the shell sand C, which is then packed by casting. After the shell sand C is packed by casting, dumping or blowing, microwaves are radiated to allow the coating and packing (shell sand) to set. Next, the casting mold having set is parted from the rubber pattern.
