Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare an antiserum useful for immunoassay, etc., by using an antigen derived from a coenzyme, e.g. nicotinic amide-adenine-dinucleotide, etc.
CONSTITUTION: A coenzyme selected from nicotinic amide-adenine-dinucleotide, nicotinic amide-adenine-dinucleoticde phosphoric acid, adenosine-diphosphoric acid, cytidine-diphosphoric acid, coenzyme A, biotin, etc. or their partially modified substances, is bonded with a carrier protein directly or through a spacer. The product is adminstered to an animal (e.g. guinea pig or rabbit) as an antigen to obtain an antiserum containing an antibody for the coenzyme. The carrier protein is albumin, γ-globulin, etc. of the other animal.
USE: Useful for investigation of the metabolism of coenzymes, analysis of the reaction mechanism of coenzyme-containing enzymes, affinity-chromatography of coenzyme- containing enzymes, etc.
