Abstract

PURPOSE: To form uniform precoated layer by causing ascending flow in filtering tank by providing circulating systems through which clarified water is returned from filter to slurry adjusting tank at the upper and lower parts of filter in parallel.
CONSTITUTION: Powdered ion exchange resin slurry adjusted in the adjusting tank 10 is sent to the filtering tank 4 through the valve V1 and the inlet pipe 3 by the pump P by closing the valve V2 and opening the valve V3 at first, and then clarified water filled in the filtering tank 4 in advance is returned to the adjusting tank 10, whereby the filtering tank 4 is filled with an uniformly distributed and desirously enriched ion exchange resin slurry. Then, when the flow rate at the valves V2 and V3 is adjusted to a proper one, a certain ascending flow is produced in the filtering tank 4 and thereby the upper and lower parts of the elements 1 are uniformly precoated with powdered ion exchange resin to form the precoated layer 9.
