Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the time of fast copy without idling a drum by letting the start position of the drum in image making process be the position immediate before charging process and the position before cleaning process and selectively controlling the drum to the state of said positions. CONSTITUTION:Driving control of a drum 1 is accomplished by detecting the notched slits 11 provided to a control disc 10 by a detector 12. It is possible to stop the drum 1 at either A or B point by controlling a motor by the detection signal by the slits 11 corresponding to the position A at immediate before charging process and the position B before cleaning process. The drum 1 is held standing by in the B position at the turning on of power source and is held standing by in the A position after copying of, e.g., one sheet, is taken, thus the copying may be started immediately without letting the drum idle.
