Abstract

PURPOSE: To evaluate photosensitive characteristics, reduce measurement time by this, reduce the effect of dark attenuation and make data processing easy by measuring the surface potentials immediate after a fixed exposure is given to the photoreceptor for a short time.
CONSTITUTION: A charging electrode 2, a filter 4, a light source 3 which radiates light through a slit 5, a measuring probe 7 connected to a surface electrometer 6, a destaticizing light source 8 and a destaticizing electrode 9 are disposed along the circumference of a photosensitive drum 1. At the time when the photosensitive drum 1 rotates, the measurement having good correlations with the sensitizing and copying process with the actual copying machine may be performed.
