Abstract

PURPOSE: To discriminate between black bars and white bars precisely and remove the data supplied from the stained portion.
CONSTITUTION: The light from light emitting element 1 is reflected by recording medium m and the reflected light is received by light receiving element 2 and is supplied to waveform shaping circuit 3. Sampling of the output from waveform shaping circuit 3 is carried out by means of a pusle from oscillator 4. Pulses from oscillator 4 are constantly entered into counter 5 as an advancing signal and the contents of the counter are stored in read buffer memory 6 which is controlled by the signal obtained from the output of circuit 3 through differentiation circuit 8. Just after completing the storing of data in the memory, counter 5 is reset by a differential signal outputted from circuit 3 through delay circuit 9. Every time when leading pulse/trailing pulse is outputted from circuit 8, address counter 7 is advanced and the contents of the counter are transferred and stored in the buffer memory 6.
