Abstract

PURPOSE: To copy only the required parts of originals continuously by controlling stopping of the charging device of a photosensitive drum, stopping of conveying of transfer paper and transfer device, etc. by way of switches which detect the specified width portions of the original in its scanning movement direction.
CONSTITUTION: When a changeover switch SW1 is connected to the relay RY1 side, contacts 1a1, 1a2 close and the rotation of the pnotosensitive drum and the scanning movement of an original platen 9 are started. This causes the switch SW2 out of the switches SW2 thru SW7 for detecting the specified width portions in the original scanning movement direction to close to set the relay RY3 and open its contact 3b1, whereby the current supply to a charging charger 3 is cut off. At the same time, the solenoid is energized by way of a timer T through closing of the contact 3a1, whereby the set state of the relay RY3 is continued and during this period no latent images are formed to the photosensitive drum.
