Abstract

PURPOSE: To control the replenishing timing of processing solution of automatic developing machine accurately and achieve accuracy of replenishing amount, by detecting the film area to replenish the processing solution by estimated necessary amount, and correcting the replenishing amount according to the measured blackened area.

CONSTITUTION: When the area of the film before development process is detected by a detector 4 for measurement of area, a calculating mechanism 9 computes the expected replenishing amount of processing solution on the basis of the expected blackened area rate from a blackened area rate selecting mechanism 8 according to the kind of film. This replenishing amount signal is applied to a control mechanism 10 by a preservation mechanism circuit 11 upon lapse of specified time after passing of the film through the detector 4, and is stored in a replenishing amount correcting mechanism 12, and an expected amount of processing solution is replenished through a pump 14. The blackened area of the film after developement and fixing process is detected by a detector 15 for measurement of blackened area, and the processing solution replenishing amount on the basis of this measured detected value is calculated in a calculating mechanism 17, so that the processing solution is corrected and replenished according to the difference from the expected replenishing amount stored in the mechanism 12. Thus, the processing solution may be automatically replenished accurately at appropriate replenising timing.
