NEW MATERIAL:A bisdiglyceryl ether compound shown by the formula (X is 2-5C alkylene; n is 2-4; R is 1-5C alkyl). EXAMPLE:Bis-(ethylglyceryl)-diethylene glycol ether. USE:Cosmetic materials. Having no irritation to the skin, which is caused by a surface active agent, the cosmetic material is not hydrolyzed and stable, capable of providing the skin with moderate moisture retention and softness. Well soluble in water-alcohol cosmetic materials and miscible with a lubricant.
