Abstract

PURPOSE: The use of a nematic crystal of specific cyclohexane ester as the major ingredient gives a liquid crystal composition that resists crosstalk phenomena, has low viscosities at low temperatures and can be used for multiplex driving with high response characteristics.
CONSTITUTION: A nematic liquid crystal composition that is prepared by adding 5W30 % of p'-cyanophenyl p-n-butylbonzoate to a liquid crystal composition consisting of 2 or more kinds of n-type nematic liquid crystals of formula I (R, R' are 2W8 C straight chain alkyl) and 2 or more kinds of p-type nematic liquid crystals of formula II (R is 3W8C straight chain alkyl).
