Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize horizontal two-line print consisting of characters different in size with a good positional precision by dividing and writing one character pattern into two line buffer memories which have the capacity corresponding to one line of the maximum print line.
CONSTITUTION: A matrix character pattern is generated by a font memory which is not shown in the figure, and is stored in a working buffer temporarily. Then, the character pattern stored in the working buffer is divided and written into line buffer memories 34 and 35 by the control of selection signal 41 of line buffer memory mode setting circuit 28. Further, one of line buffer memories 34 and 35 is outputted in multiplexer 48 by selection signal 41 and is printed on printer 19 through parallel- series converter circuit 36.
