Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the intermission of return of exhaust gas when an engine is sharply accelerated, by providing a return control valve which has a negative pressure chamber and is located in an exhaust gas return passage and by releasing negative pressure through a negative-pressure-responsible regulation valve.
CONSTITUTION: A delay valve 29 is provided in a negative-pressure-passage 7. The valve 29 comprises a check valve 29a and an orifice 29b coupled in parallel therewith. When a throttle valve 5 is once fully opened at the time of sharp acceleration of the engine, negative pressure at a negative pressure inlet port 6 is once reduced and the introduction of the atmosphere, namely, the release of the negative pressure is delayed by the valve 29. Therefore, a negative pressure chamber 8 coupled to the downstream side of the delay valve 29 is maintained at relatively- strong negative pressure and the return of exhaust gas is continued through the return control valve 9.
