Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a scanner which produces scanning patterns intersecting in the reading window region, by using a rotating hologram plate as light deflection member, and reflecting two scanning patterns caused by diffraction by means of two sets of reflecting mirrors.
CONSTITUTION: A laser beam passes through a lens 3 and a reflecting mirror 4, and enters a rotary disc 6 on which plural holograms 7 are disposed on the circumference. The laser beam is diffracted into two beams 10, 13 by means of the holograms 7, which are reflected by pairs of reflecting mirrors 11, 12, and 23, 24, respectively, and reach a scanning window 16. The reflecting mirrors 11, 12, and the reflecting mirrors 23, 24 convert the moving direction of the diffracted lights 10, 13, and, in the scanning window, the diffracted light 10 moves in the direction of Y, while the diffracted light 13 moves in the direction of Z. In this method, the rotation of the scanning direction of laser beam and composition of two sets of scanning patterns may be performed simultaneously by means of reflecting mirrors alone.
