Abstract

PURPOSE: To exactly detect leaked portion at the bottom plate for a cylindrical storage tank and prevent the bottom plate from corroding by filling ammonia gas between the bottom plate and a sheet to inspect the leakage and completely removing the ammonia gas after inspection.
CONSTITUTION: A bottom concrete ring 1 is laid on a base plate or bottom plate of an external tank, a sheet 6 is coated thereon, and welded thereto to lay an annular plate 2 formed in rign shape. Ammonia gas is press-filled from a gas filling inlet 7 to thus inspect the alteration of reacted substance due to the leakage of the gas from the leaked portion of the welded portion. After completion of the inspection, the air from the gas filling inlet 7 is fed to completely exhaust the ammonia gas from the exhaust port suitably provided in addition to the gas filling port 7 of bag 6a of the fed sheet 6.
