Abstract
PURPOSE: To simplify the handling of membrane in using an oxygen electrode as an enzyme electrode, and to improve the response of the electrode output to the enzyme reaction, by immobilizing enzymes on a sheet of membrane to form a hydrophobic oxygen permeable membrane.
CONSTITUTION: One side of an immobilized enzyme membrane, wherein enzymes are immobilized, prepared from a porous high polymer membrane, is coated with a hydrophobic oxygem permeable substance sclected from Teflon, polyethylene, or silicone, by spraying the substance thereon to form a hydrophobic oxygen permeable film.
