Abstract
PURPOSE: Adsorbent made of fibers from nitrile group containing polymer with a specific surface area is brought into contact with a solution containing urokinase, thus producing high-purity urokinase in high yield.
CONSTITUTION: A solutions containing urokinase as urine or others is brought into contact with an adsorbent made of fibrous material from nitrile group-containing polymer or its processed product with diameters of less than 10 microns, preferably 7 microns, a nitrile content of at least 20wt%, and a specific surface area of over 3m2/g, preferably over 5m2/g and urokinase is adsorbed thereon. Then, the urokinase is eluted from the adsorbent. An acrylonitrile copolymer or methacrylonitril copolymer containing vinyl monomers bearing amide and carboxyl groups are used advantageously for the adsorbent.
