Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain light colors suitable for luring fishes, by combining the emitted light spectrum from a metal vapor discharge lamp with the light transmitting characteristics of the outer tube enclosing a light emitting tube or with the light emitting characteristics thereof.
CONSTITUTION: A discharge lamp constructed of a light emitting tube 1 and an outer tube 2 containing said tube is formed to have emitted light colors with wavelengths between 450W580nm and nearly continuous spectroscopic energy distribution. To achieve this, when a metal halide lamp is used as a light emitting tube, there are enclosed in the tube, besides a starting rare gas and mercury, primarily thallium halide and also a halide of indium, yttrium or the like, and the outer tube 2 is constructed of colored glass. In case when a high-pressure mercury vapor lamp is used, a europium activated silicate phosphor or the like is applied onto the inner wall surface 13 of the outer tube.
