Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the health promoting effect by covering the inner surface of an external tube made of a glass which absorbs ultraviolet rays having a wave length under 300nm with a fluorescent substrate having a principal luminous wave length range within wave lengths between 320W60nm.
CONSTITUTION: A high pressure mercury vapour luminous tube 1, operating at a mercury pressure of 1W2atm. as used for the fluorescent mercury lamp, is used. Enclosed in an external tube 2 made of a hard glass which absorbs ultraviolet rays having a wave length under 300nm are the luminous tube 1 and a ballast filament 3 which is connected in series with the luminous tube 1 and brightens at color temperature of approximately 3000W3500°K when the luminous tube 1 operates. The inner surface of the external tube 2 is covered with a fluorescent film 4 consisting of a Ta activated Ca-phosphate fluorescent substance having the luminous peak around a wave length of 330nm and Pb activated Ba-silicate fluorescent substance.
