Abstract

PURPOSE: To make clamping of transfer paper easy and obtain the transfer device which is small in size and is simple in construction by forming a conveying drum by a thin dielectric sheet of cylindrical form and rotating the same in synchronization with a photosensitive drum.
CONSTITUTION: A conveying drum 12, fomed of a dielectric sheet of cylindrical form, rotates in synchronization to a photosensitive drum 1. At the copying, the images of the first separated color are formed first on the photosensitive drum 1, during which time, the conveying drum 12 is charged by a conveying charger 14 and the paper from the paper feeder is adsorbed, clamped and conveyed to the transfer position. The transfer paper of the images of the first color is rotated once while it is held adsorbed and clamped to the conveying drum which has been destaticized and regulated to a suitable potential by a destaticizer 15. During this time, the images of the second color are formed on the photosensitive drum 1 and are transferred onto the images of the first color. After the images of the colors of the specified number are superposed and transferred, the paper is separated and is sent to a fixing device 11. In this way, the transfer device with which clamping of paper is easy and which is simple in construction may be obtained.
