Abstract
PURPOSE: To sharply improve fuel cost, by controlling the relative location relationship of a piston and a rod by utilizing both relative, angular displacement momentum, and by changing the compression ratio of an engine in response to operational conditions.
CONSTITUTION: A piston 1 and a connecting rod 2 are connected by means of a piston pin body 3, the pin body 3 is formed by an offset pin portion 4, bearing portions 5a, 5b and piston pins 6a, 6b and said pin portions 4, 6 are identically made eccentric to a bearing portion 5. The pin portion 4 is inscribed with one portion of a shaft hole 8, and an A oil pressure chamber 9 and an atmospheric chamber 10 are made up by means of a sliding partition wall 11. A B oil pressure chamber 17 to which a free piston 18 is housed is built up in the axial direction of the pin portion 6a, and oil from a lubricating groove 28 in a crank-shaft 27 is properly supplied through an oil path 14 with said oil pressure chamber 9 and a C oil pressure chamber 12 in the sliding partition wall 11.
