Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A pyridylcarbamate derivative of formulaI(X is halogen; Y is methyl or propyl; R is lower alkyl).
EXAMPLE: Methyl N-(5-iodo-6-ethylpyridin-2-yl)carbamate.
USE: Non-medical microbicide. Pesticide effective to rice blight, sheath blight of rice plant, anthracnose of various vegetables, etc. The exemplified compound is especially effective to various gray mold caused by Benlate-resistant fungi, and to Aspergillus fungi grown to industrial products, and low-toxic to man, beast and fish.
PROCESS: The objective compound I is prepared e.g. by reacting aminopyridine II with a chloroformic acid ester III.
