Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a foamed molded article free from variation in specific gravity, and strenth, by hot-molding a mixture of granules, wherein a chemical blowing agent is incorporated, and glass fiber containing polyester granules.
CONSTITUTION: (A) Granules wherein (a) a chemical blowing agent, e.g. azodicarbonamide, having the decomposition temperature (T) of 200°C or above, and (b) a thermoplastic resin, e.g. styrene, at a weight ratio of (a) to (b)=1:99W50:50 are homogeneously mixed at a temperature 30°C or more lower than T, and (B) granules comprising (C) a polyester consisting of terephthalic acid and a 2W4C glycol, e.g. ethylene glycol, and (d) glass fibers are hot-molded at a temperature above T. the weitht ratio of (A) to (B) is 1:99W20:80, preferably 3:97W10:90.
EFFECT: No flying up or scattering of the blowing agent in molding.
