Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a liquid fuel combusting apparatus, of the type in which liquid fuel is combusted after evaporating the liquid fuel by blowing air onto the surface of an evaporating wick impregnated with liquid fuel, wherein arrangement is such as to achieve stable combustion with no need of a high-precision oil controller.
CONSTITUTION: Fuel supplied via fuel pipe 22 by a pump or the like is first introduced into chamber 21 of oil sump 16, where fuel flow is straightened. Then, fuel flows over a recessed portion 19a of partition wall 19 into chamber 23, and after passing through passage 18, comes into oil chamber 2. Here, since aperture 26 formed in weir 20 is sufficiently small, level of fuel in oil chamber 2 is raised gradually. When the fuel level rises up to the upper end of weir 20, fuel flows over the same and is returned to a fuel tank via return pipe 25. Therefore, fuel level can be kept constant, and fuel impregnated in evaporating wick 3 is evaporated by air flow from air chamber 6 and combusted in stable manner in main combustion chamber 8. When flame is extinguished, fuel is drawn out from said aperture 26.
