PURPOSE:To provide a contacting apparatus which enlarges the contact area between reactants and prevents that slurry adheres to a rotor, when the slurry is formed by a reaction. CONSTITUTION:Liquid above a guide plate 8 is forcedly passed through an opening 9 and a passage formed between the guide plate 8 and a level-faced rotor 5 as shown by the arrow A by the rotation of an impeller 7. Gas is passed through the inside of an inner rotating axis 2 and emitted from a gas delivery port 11. The liquid is contacted with the gas in the edge B of the level-faced rotor 5. By the rotation of the umbrella type rotor 5, the liquid is cut off from the gas at the edge, thereby the contact area of the gas with the liquid is enlarged and the renewal of contact surface is promoted. Detergent supplied from a detergent supply port is passed through an outer rotating axis 3 and blown off by centrifugal force due to the rotation of a funnel type rotor 6 to wash the inside of the level-faced rotor 5. Thus, the addherence of slurry to the umbrella type rotor 5 can be prevented.
