Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to reliably judge whether or not the trouble in the vicinity of the terminal end of a calbe is within the calbe proper by adding a circuit which is operative to detect the zero phase current generated by the dielectric breakdown and to compare them at the both terminals thereby to divide them into sections.
CONSTITUTION: When a trouble (or electric breakdown) takes place in a power supply system, a zero phase current is fed from a conductor to a power source side through the ground or a grounded metal. In case, therefore, the trouble takes place at a position other than the power cable 1, a grounded relay 7 is not driven. If, on the contrary, the trouble point is within the cable 1, the relay is driven. By the output of the relay 7, it is possible to judge whether or not the trouble takes place in the cable 1.
