Abstract
PURPOSE:To make mass production possible cheaply and make it possible to delay an ultrasonic wave over 5MHz by constituting a glass delay element by a glass delay medium which is pentagonal and has a thickness 1/2-5 times as thick as the wavelength of a propagated ultrasonic wave. CONSTITUTION:The thickness of a glass delay medium is defined 1/2-5 times as thick as the waveform of a propagated ultrasonic wave, and the glass delay medium is formed into a pentagon having first and second side faces 1 and 2 parallel with each other approximately, third side face 3 orthogonal to these faces approximately, and fourth and fifth side faces 4 and 5 at an angle of 45 deg. for side face 3.
