Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the bubble amounts in liquid to be measured with good sensitivity and accuracy and ease by radiating light to liquid and detecting the quantity of irregularly reflected light from the bubbles. CONSTITUTION:Lamps 2 and a photoelectric transducer 4 are mounted to a light- emitting and photo-detecting part mounting plate 1. Antireflection plates 6, 7 are provided with a transparent tube 5 as a spacer on the back of the mounting plate 1. When the entire part of the device constituted in this way is dipped in the measuring liquid and when it is assumed that no bubbles exist in the liquid and yet the antireflection plate 6 completely absorbs visible rays, then the output of the photoelectric transducer 4 becomes zero but if bubbles exist in the liquid, the visible rays from the lamps 2 cause irregular reflection owing to the bubbles and the quantity of light entering the photoelectric transducer 4 increases with an increase in the bubbles.
