Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the erroneous operations of an hour informing sound generating circuit, which resorts to a display element drive voltage, by impressed a preset divided voltage thereby to prevent the influences of a display element drive voltage due to the adjustment of brightness of the display.
CONSTITUTION: The drive voltage of a segment b of a 10 minute display 2e takes a low level 10 minutes before each correct hour and is detected by a differential circuit, which is composed of a resister R2 and a capacitor C1, so that a transistor TR2 is rendered inconductive through a transistor TR1 which is rendered conductive at each correct hour and so that the potential at a terminal C becomes substantially the same as that of a time informing sound signal source B to generate the hour informing sound at each correct time. The differential circuit has its input terminal a connected through a diode D2 with the voltage dividing point of resisters R6 and R7 having preset resistances. The potential variation at the terminal a due to the variation of the voltage to be fed to the segment b for adjusting the brightness of the display is prevented so that no erroneous sound is generated due to the potential variation during the brightness adjustment.
