Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a picture with a uniform contrast and brightness by changing the gain of a video signal system in accordance with a shading correction signal.
CONSTITUTION: Horizontal driving pulse HD and vertical driving pulse VD are passed through saw-tooth wave forming circuits 1 and 2 and parabolic wave forming circuits 3 and 4, and signal synthesizer circuit 5 outputs a shading correction signal. This output is applied to variable gain amplifier 9, inserted into the input side of signal synthesizer circuit 7 of a video signal system, through amplifier 8 so as to control amplifier 9, thereby improving amplitude (contrast). The shading correction signal, on the other hand, is applied through amplifier 6 to synthesizer circuit 7, thus to improve brightness. In this way,shading is corrected effectively to obtain a picture uniform in contrast and in brightness.
