Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the S/N at the high region area for the frequency modulation recording system, using both the preemphasis circuit consisting of CR and the preemphasis circuit of the opposite phase properties each.
CONSTITUTION: For the video signal applied to input terminal 30, the high region is emphasized with the slower phase secured for the high region component than the low region component by the 1st preemphasis circuit 2 consisting of CR. Then the phase of the high region component is made faster than the low region component, and thus the high region is emphasized through the 2nd preemphasis circuit 32 having the opposite phase properties to circuit 2. The high region component is then supplied to clamping/clipping circuit 3. As a result, the high region component having nearly the flat emphasis is obtained through the 1st preemphasis, and the emphasis amount is increased by the 2nd preemphasis respectively. Thus the S/N can be enhanced for the high region area.
