Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate checking double feed of paper with a memory of sample thickness, by previously feeding a sheet of paper inscribed with information of thickness in a double feed senser.
CONSTITUTION: The thickness of a sheet of paper 1 fed in a feed drum 6 is converted into a displacement of a lever 7. A set of light emitter 11 and receiving element 10 converts the displacement into an electric signal which is put in a discriminator 12. A reader 2 reads the code of thickness on the paper 1 to put in a setter 3 through a decoder 3. The setter 4 makes the discriminator 12 check double feeding of sheets in accordance with the data. This means that the precious feed of a sheet with the thickness code, prior to the change of paper supplied, can easily reset the double feed checker.
