Abstract

PURPOSE:To adjust easily a machining condition enabling to operate the maximum machining speed and reducing the erosion of electrode by detecting accurately the machining condition in an electric discharge time and providing a device to indicate quantitatively the detections. CONSTITUTION:A method, where a machining electrode 2 is connecting with an electrode of pulse power source 1, the other electrode with workpiece 3 respectively, besides, plus terminal, minus terminal of the first and the second comparators 6, 7 being connected with the terminal of machining electrode 2, and operating an electric spark machining by producing the power from an and-gate circuit 8 equivalent to a pulse voltage which is detected within a set voltage by the level set devices 4, 5, is discriminating respective wave form of normal electric discharge, no-discharge, continuous arc discharge, and short-circuit produced from the voltage wave form developed across the machining electrode 2 and the workpiece 3, permitting to detect the ratio generated from these wave forms as well as enabling to indicate.
