Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain images of good gradation reproducibility and good quality at a high speed without producing any unpleasant feel by using the photoreceptor baked and bound with a photoconductive insulation layer containing photoconductive inorganic pigments and fluoropolymer and developing the images with a water-base colloidal developing solution.
CONSTITUTION: A water-repellent electrophotographic photoreceptor 3 comprises providing a photoconductive layer 2 containing the photoconductive inorganic pigments composed of ZnO, TiO2 or other of good thermal stability or a mixture of two or more kinds of these and fluoropolymer, through baking and binding, on a conductive substrate 1 composed of a metal plate such as of, e.g., Al, Pb or other or metal compounds of SnO2 or other. On the other hand, a suspension-base solution or the like comprising dispersing coloring agent particles such as of carbon black or other organic or inorganic pigments or the like in water with a dispersant, high polymer material or the like that can act as a polarity control agent, is used as the water-base colloidal solution for visualizing the electrostatic latent images. Thereby, the extremely distinct copies of superior gradation characteristic may be obtained.
