Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent occurence of an accident due to lack of oxygen in air before a flame becomes unstable or CO gas is generated due decrease of density of oxygen by detecting delicate changes in density of oxygen in air accurately and surely. CONSTITUTION:A combustion chamber 1 is formed at a center of a burner a and gas for combustion is supplied thereinto from the bottom portion thereof through a gas piping 7. An enclosed air chamber 3 is formed at both sides of the combustion chamber 1 so as to have side walls 2 of the combustion chamber 1 as common walls for both of them. Small holes 5 are provided on the side walls 2 and air, forcedly drafted into the air chamber 3 by a blower 4, is ejected into the combustion chamber 1 through the holes 5. A small hole 5a for detecting lack of oxygen is provided at the bottom portion of the side wall 2 and air is also ejected therethrough into the chamber 1. A thermocouple 8 is attached before the small hole 5a and is coupled electrically to a gas valve 6 equipped in the gas piping 7. According to this method, the gas valve 6 may be closed by the thermocouple 8 when the density of oxygen in air is arrived at a predetermined value.
