Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a thin and yet inexpensive reflection type polarizing plate by providing a reflection function to the substrate itself in the polarizing plate formed by providing substrates to the surfaces of its polarizing film.
CONSTITUTION: A transparent substrate 2 obtained by setting the curable resin composed primarily of radical polymerizable resin is formed on one side of a polarizing film 1 and a substrate 5 provided with a reflecting function on the other side, whereby the reflection type polarizing plate is obtained. The abovementioned substrate 5 is formed by coating the coating comprising dispersing reflecting substance (titanium oxide powder, alumina powder or the like) in the curable coating such as acrylic base, urethane base, acryl-epoxy base, etc. and subjecting the same to curing treatment.
