Abstract

CONSTITUTION: Handling of polyvinyl chloride containing its monomer is made possible with reduced corrosion of the handling apparatus, by using an alloy containing titanium or palladium as the material for the apparatus. The apparatus is, e.g. a polymerization vessel, a monomer-removing equipment, a polymer drier or pipe line combining those equipments. The effect is remarkable even at a handling temperature of e.g. 60W80°C or higher.
