Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the low side lobe performance very excellent, by providing the reflection plate so that the direction of scattered wave can be toward the permissible direction. CONSTITUTION:Electromagnetic waves emitted from the primary radiator 1 to the side reflection mirror 2 mostly go toward the major reflection mirror 3, and a part of them is scattered at the edge of the mirror 2 and it is emitted toward all the spaces. The scattered waves emitted on the horizontal plane cause interferrence with other radio lines. The reflection plate 4 is provided toward upper sky to shield the scattered waves, and the scattered waves in horizontal plane from the edge of the main reflection mirror 3 are toward the upper sky with the reflection mirror 3. Since the distribution of electric field is rapidly decreased at the end of electromagnetic wave path, when the reflection plates 4 and 5 are placed with a distance from the center of the electromagnetic wave path, the scattering from the edges of those reflection plates can be prevented. The size of the reflection plate is determined with desired amount of shield. Thus, the offset type antenna having lower side lobe performance than conventional methods can be formed.
