Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a polyethylene resin film superior in lateral uniaxial shrinkage and transparency by drawing a polyethylene sheet having a specific gel percentage biaxially both vertically and laterally at specific temperature and drawing multiplying factor.
CONSTITUTION: After fusing and extruding a polyethylene resin to raw sheet, an ion radial ray is applied to form a bridge so that gel percentage will stand at 5W 80%. Next, the sheet is drawn at multiplying factors below 1.1 times vertically and over 3.0 times laterally at 70W150°C according to tenter process. Polyethylene resin of high or low density and copolymers of ethylene and vinyl acetate and ethylene and propyrene can be used for polyethylene resin to work. Thus the film with maximum heat shrinkage coming below 20% vertically and over 50% laterally and haze below 5.0% can be obtained.
