Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the title substance in a short time in high yield, by treating a hydrazone derivative prepared from isocoumarone-14-dione and a hydrozine derivative with an alkali in a solvent, and by acidifying the reaction mixture.
CONSTITUTION: A compound of formula II: [R1 and R2 are lower alkyl groups; R3 is alkyl group; R is formula V(R4 is H or alkoxy group; R5 is H, halogen, alkyl group, etc.; R6 is H, halogen, alkyl, nitro group, etc.), or formula VI(R7 is H or alkyl group) is treated with an alkali in a solvent, and the reaction mixture is acidified.
