Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate greatly the handling of the satellite picture not by filing the satellite picture directly but by filing the partial picture image featuring the size corresponding to the topographical chart with correction given to its geometric distortion. CONSTITUTION:The geographic coordinates data is read out from geographic coordinates table 1, and the satellite picture position is calculated on the satellite picture corresponding to the geographic coordinates. Then the partial picture featuring the prescribed size based on the obtained picture position is read out from satellite picture file 2 and then memorized in partial picture memory 4. The coefficient of the double primary conversion (Affine converson) is calculated by coefficient calculator 5 in order to convert the partial picture into the picture analogous to the topographical chart. Using this coefficient, the picture position to be read out from picture 4 is calculated at address calculation part 6, and at the same time the picture data designated at part 6 are stored in sequence into output picture memory 7. The corrected partial picture of memory 7 plus the geographic coordinates data within table 1 are sent to file production part 8 for correspondence between them and then stored in satellite chart file 9 in classification.
