Abstract

PURPOSE:To set the adequate tap gain without causing the problem of synchronism by using several reference signals, differing in sampling phase for an automatic equalizer for analog signals in accordance with an input signal sampling phase. CONSTITUTION:Through delay line 1 with taps, an analog input signal is delayed and outputted from respective taps. These delay signals are inputted to the (2N+1)-number tap coefficient units 2-N-2N and then multiplied by tap gains C-N-CN. Respective output signals are inputted to adder circuit 3, which outputs an equivalent signal. This equivalent signal is inputted to error signal arithmetic circuit 4, which calculates a difference from a reference signal from reference signal generating circuit 5. In accordance with the error appreciation function of the error signal, tap gain control circuit 6 controls gap gains supplied to tap coefficient units 2-N-2N so as to reduce the error. Circuit 5, stored with several reference signals differing in sampling phase, outputs selectively a reference signal corresponding to the sampling phase of an analog signal detected by reference signal selector circuit 7.
