Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve S/N by widening frequency deviation, by increasing an emphasis value, and by suppressing secondary distortion while operating a low-carrier FM signal passing part in a linear range by decreasing a FM modulation output at the time of photo recording regeneration by FM-modulating direcly a NTSC composite color signal by a low carrier.
CONSTITUTION: Emphasis circuit 16 puts emphasis of approximate 6dB by a color subcarrier. In non-linear emphasis circuit 17, an input signal is emphasized at a high frequency by capacitor C1 and R1 and R2 and its output appears at both terminal of R2. However, when a high-frequency signal level is extremely high, a signal passing through capacitor C2 is clipped to a contact potential difference between diodes D1 and D2. Both circuits 16 and 17 put emphasis of 10∼15dB on the color subcarrier. Circuit 17 puts sufficient emphasis on the high-frequency signal of a low level, so that S/N can be improved. Broad-band FM modulator 4 has much frequency deviation, improving S/N.
