Abstract
PURPOSE: To ensure that the flow rate can be freely controlled in the range from zero to the maximum value by controlling the position of a spool valve according to the electric current.
CONSTITUTION: An excitation rod 5 is coupled to one end of a spool 2 by a connection rod 4, and is provided with oppositely tapered portions 6a and 6b. The iron cores 7' of electromagnets 7a and 7b which displace the spool 2 rightward or leftward from the neutral position are split in two in the displacement direction of the spool 2. A non-magnetic body 7a' is integrally held between the iron cores 7' of the electromagnet 7a and a non-magnetic body 7b' between the iron cores 7' of the electromagnet 7b, with coils wound therearound. The small-diameter portion of the tapered portion 6a is faced to the non-magnetic body 7a' and the small-diameter portion of the tapered portion 6b to the non-magnetic body 7b'. By this constitution, a roughly linear relationship is established between the current passed through the electromagnets and the flow rate of the fluid fed to an actuator.
