Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a dot printer which allows the selection of letter spaces according to the size thereof and the saving of paper by means of a drive mechanism adapted to change the motion stroke of the bar through an electric control. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of dot printing mechanisms 1 are arranged at an equi- space along the printing line. A bar reciprocating with a drive mechanism 3 along a guide 4 is provided and the printing mechanism 1 is driven during the reciprocation of the bar to print a line of dots on the printing line 5a of the paper. In this dot printer, the bar 2 is arranged on a transmission belt 8' to be free to rotate employing a pulse motor, a servo-motor or the like for the power source 11 and a drive mechanism 3' is provided to vary the stroke of the bar through an electric control.
