Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a phosphoric acid ester or a thiophosphoric acid ester useful as pesticides and plastic additives, at a low temperature in a short time, by reacting an OH-containing organic compound with POCl3 or PSCl3 in an organic solvent in the presence of an alkali and water.
CONSTITUTION: A phenol or an alcohol is reacted with POCl3 or PSCll3 in an organic solvent such as acetone, in the presence of 20W60% aqueous solution of alkali metal hydroxide or carbonate, at ≤80°C, pref. 20W40°C, for 1W6 hours. The phenol is a compound of formula I (R1 is H, alkyl, etc.; R2 is H, NO2, etc.; R3 is H or halogen; Ar is aromatic residue; x, y, z are 0W5), and the alcohol is a compound of formula II (R is alkyl, alkenyl, etc.).
