Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable friction electric characteristic to be improved, superior viscoelastic characteristic to be exhibited when pressure is applied and fixing to be made sufficiently even on plain paper, by making combination use of the specific polyamide and modified epoxy resin.
CONSTITUTION: The polyamide, such as the one obtainable through reaction of unsaturated fatty acid and alkylene diamine or arylene diamine, which has long chain alkyl groups of preferably C6W40 and is 80 to 200°C in softening point and the modified epoxy resin which is the product of reaction of an epoxy resin and a modifier and is 5 to 70% in the degree of esterification of epoxy groups and 80 to 140°C in melting point are compounded at ratios of 1:3 to 3:1 and the mixture is dissolved and kneaded together with coloring agents and other additives and the mixture thus prepared is ground and classified. This results in the improved fluidity of the toner during pressuring, the accelerated cohesion and bond of the toner and further the improved dispersibility of magnetic powder when it is used as the coloring agent.
