Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to measure radiant rays accurately in case of count gas high in humidity, by applying DC current to the anode of the gas counter tube.
CONSTITUTION: The gas counter tube 1 of cylinder type has the anode 3 connected to the positive terminal of the high voltage supply power 2 and the cathode 4 of cylinder surrounding the anode 3 cocentrically, isolated electrically from it and grounded. The DC current of low voltage is fed to the anode 3 with the cell 5, and the anode 3 is connected to the counter 8 via the capacitor 6 and the amplifier 7. Thus, the anode 3 reaches a high temperature through the heating of DC current applied and the adhering of water drops is prevented for the anode, then no corona discharge is produced in using the counted gas in high humidity to enable the measurement in high accuracy.
