Abstract
PURPOSE: The title composition capable of giving molded articles having improved heat resistance and flame retardancy, without coloring and degrading the strength, comprising a halogen-containing cyanurate of specific structure, and a solid inorganic filler.
CONSTITUTION: A composition prepared by kneading (A) polyethylene terephthalate or a copolyester having 80% or more, preferably 90% or more, of ethylene terephthalate units with (B) 5W35wt% of a cyanurate of a halogenated bisphenol, preferably of the formula [R1, R2, and R3 are H, or (halogenated) lower alkyl groups] and (C) 5W50wt%, preferably 10W40wt%, of a solid inorganic filler, e.g. talc, having an average particle size ≤80μ. The addition of an organic crystallization accelerator, a fibrous reinforcing material, and a release agnet further improves the releasability in low temperature molding, moldability, and heat distortion temperature, of a molded article.
